Botanical origin / occurrence
Herb from "Lavandula vera DC." or Lavandula officinalis ". Botanically it belongs to the Lamiaceae and occurs throughout the Mediterranean region. But it is also cultivated in Yugoslavia, Russia, Australia and England.

Extraction
By steam distillation from the fresh stems and flower panicles.

Yield
1.4 - 1.6%, depending on provenance and production process.

Fragrance
Typical, sweet-balsamic, herbal fragrance with floral-woody underlays.

Use
Extremely diverse uses: from typical lavender water perfumes to fougère extraits.
